A taste of Mexican culture for tourists is a visit to Discover Mexico, a new attraction on Cozumel designed to showcase Mexican art, architecture, lifestyle and historic sites.*

Now when cruisers go ashore at Cozumel, Mexico, they have a new diversion for their time ashore. Discover Mexico, the island's latest attraction, immerses visitors in the history and culture of Mexico.

Discover Mexico will take you on a journey through the Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern periods of Mexico.  Walking though the park's rainforest-like setting, you'll find replicas of Mexico's most famous archaeological sites and architectural structures from Mexico's colonial period.

The park also boasts a museum housing both temporary and permanent exhibits of popular Mexican art. For example, the art at left was on display this past spring.*

state-of-the-art theater will show films and documentaries about Mexico.

In addition, visitors will enjoy a themed Mexican marketplace. There they may snack on local cuisine or shop for authentic Mexican wares.

"We are delighted to have such an innovative and exciting new attraction in Cozumel," says Raul Marrufo, director of the Cozumel Tourism Promotion Board "With the cultural based park, we will be able to share more of Cozumel's and Mexico's heritage and history with travelers."

The attraction gives guests a spirited overview of what Mexico has to offer. An affordable family attraction, the park admission fee is $14 for adults and $9 for children. Park hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
